Key Thought:
It has been said, “If you do a job you love, you won’t work a day in your life.” That’s the same feeling as when we do work for someone we worship – it doesn’t even feel like work. A person in love doesn’t complain if his sweetheart asks him to help her wash the dishes. A groupie doesn’t blink if a band member wants to come over to their house to “kick it” for a while, but they first need to clean up the place. If we love God and He calls us to an avenue of service or He stirs us to meet a need, the work we do for Him is worship. If you are “serving God” but it feels like work…like something you dread doing, then ask yourself 2 questions.
1) Has God himself asked me to do what I’m doing?
If the answer is “no” then your work is not worship
2) Am I in tune with Him and His loving-kindness in my life?
If God has in fact called you to serve Him in a particular way, but it is always a chore, you might not be in tune with Him.
Sermon Highlights:
Take some time to write down some important thoughts that have stuck with you from Steve’s Sermon on Ezra 3:8-10 (Nov 11th, 2007)

Key Questions to Ponder During the Week:
- What type of work do you do? Do you find your work fulfilling?
- Can average people doing typical “worldly” occupations consider their work/career as a way of worshiping God?
- Have you ever tried to consider a menial or undesirable task as a way to worship God?
- How does a sense of God’s stirring/calling affect my attitude toward the work I do in my job? At church?
- How does God’s Chesed love influence my attitude toward the tasks and responsibilities I have?
