Biggest Loser

We are starting a series about losing the stuff in our life we don't need. I will be incessantly asking you, what you are holding on to that is not necessary, helpful, healthful, or in any way beneficial to your life. I'll tell you that I have some unnecessary weight that I carry around that is of absolutely no value in my life. The reason I cary it around mostly has to do with lack of discipline and poor choices. I choose what is immediately gratifying and the consequence is that I continue to hover at least 25 pounds above where I should be. The extra weight affects my energy level so that I can't be a dad 100%. It makes me more injury prone, so that I end up missing out on some exciting opportunities. It affects my relationship with my wife who would be more attracted to me if I changed my habits. It affects my ability to make a good first impression on people I want to minister to. You all know me and love me for who I am, but that isn't always good because I can become content in an area I shouldn't be content in. Unfortunately, I have a very healthy self-image so that part isn't motivating for me either. The main issue is that I need God's help to be more disciplined in how much and what types of food I put into my body. It will be difficult, but before the series is done about 4 weeks from now I want to drop from 220 to 208. I'll keep you updated how it's going.

Only being a few days into making my own change (water as the only beverage for the next month) I can already see that sticking with this will be tough for me. I'll be praying for you to finish this strong.
